Multiple reports of a UFO over Texas a few nights ago have surfaced online. One witness even reached out to me. Check out a video recap, as well as all the witness testimony, and let me know what you think this could be in the comments, or on Facebook or Twitter. Many are speculating this could be SpaceX, and the timeline does add up: Tradewinds, Texas, MUFON case 122950:
This morning at 1 in the morning my girlfriend, sister, and I were stargazing laying down watching the stars, when out of nowhere my girlfriend said whoa what is that, we were all looking at different areas of the sky so i had to turn around . My sister was on the steps putting on bug spray and I called called her over . Kermit, Texas, MUFON case 122970:
We saw a hazy star looking object that was moving fairly quickly, high in the night sky. After we watched it for a few seconds, a fan of light appeared behind the original light. All light was white in color. The fan very slowly spread out while the original light turned slightly, continued moving away from us and eventually they both disappeared. This was over a period of at least 10 minutes. Several minutes later an airplane flew by. It was very obvious the airplane was much closer than the other object. There was 3 witnesses at my location and 1 possibly two other at another location. Witness testimony submitted to me by Amanda in Aubrey, Texas:
I stepped outside to bring my dogs in and just looked up to see a bring light moving away thinking it was an airplane. After looking at it for a moment I realized it was not and saw it was a ball of light, projecting a light, moving sideways?.... It left what looked like a smoke ring. Note: multiple rings different sizes or maybe further distances I'm not sure. It didnt make any sounds or other swift movement other than quickly moving away. I used my night mode on my phone to get some pictures. Hopefully I can get an answer as to what it could be because I lost sleep trying to figure out what I saw. Abilene, Texas, NUFORC report 168794:
First appeard exactly like a comet. Then more of slow moving fireball then triangular shape w peominent geometrical smoke plume. Dallas, Texas, MUFON case 122944:
Saw star-like object--to high to be a plane--heading North in a straight trajectory with a vapor trail fanned out behind it.

A really detailed report of UFOs over the Dallas area from about 20 years ago, is just now surfacing online. Jeff submitted a testimony to me of mysterious orbs he had seen while driving home with a friend one morning. He compared his sighting to footage purportedly taken in the 80s in England (watch and compare below), but made sure to clarify that the UFO she saw moved slower, and also exhibited other slight differences: " This took place roughly 20 years ago and I have told a small handful of people about it. I've never written or typed out a description before. Details of time and place are not clear. A friend of mine at the time, David, and I were driving to his home in Justin, TX, which is west of DFW airport. It was daytime, I think a.m. We drove a route he had driven countless times as he is from that area. There is a lot of open land out there. The scenery is cut up between wooded area and open field on either side of the highway. To our right, as we passed some woods it opened into a field of tall browned grass reaching maybe 2ft high in some areas. I was looking off in that direction, to the right, when I saw 2 objects seemingly the size of birds. I think they were about 50 ft from the road in the field of tall brown grass. As the 2 objects rose from the field the began almost circle around each other and not great speed, but not slowly. As the objects rose they also slowly were flying toward the road we were on. As my eyes followed them across I could see in my peripheral view David leaning his body toward the window and his head turning up to also follow what I was seeing as I asked him if he was seeing what I'm seeing and he said yes. By the time they were in front and above us their shape and characteristics changed. The best description for what we saw was to 3 dimensional objects becoming flat and thin and possibly formed into one object and then vanished. It looked like a piece of film strip waving in the wind and disappeared. Its distance from us is hard to recall, but at the moment I'm thinking at least 100ft by the time it was passing over the highway.
What do you think about this case? Do you think the sighting from the 80s in England, and this one from the early 2000s in Texas, could be related?

A sighting of "two large dark objects" silently flying over the Dallas area has been submitted to MUFON (case 122509). Although the testimony is brief, two daytime photos were submitted along with it: Observed two large dark objects
Here's an oldie, but a goodie. According to a MUFON report (case 83420) I just stumbled upon, a "huge metallic cigar-shaped UFO" was seen over a neighborhood in Texas by two friends who were playing outside: It was 1975 I was 12 years old, I looked up and saw a huge metallic cigar shaped UFO This report is a hard one to verify, but if you lived in Texas in the 70s and also saw strange things in the sky, then let me know.
Do you have any thoughts about cigar UFOs or 1970s sightings and encounters in general? Let me know here in the comments, or on Facebook or Twitter.
A UFO sighting from more than a decade ago is just now being reported to MUFON by a "MUFON field investigator trainee." The witness wrote a thorough and detailed description of seeing a strange ball of light in over their home: New Year's Day: Bright, Intense Red/Orange Light The witness compares their sighting to another sighting that reportedly happened during the same time frame in Florida. I personally found numerous UFO reports on MUFON and NUFORC from December 31st, 2012, so I narrowed them down to Texas, and was left with only several. The most compelling of those was one out of Richmond, Texas (Houston area), in which the witness described seeing an "amber," "weird-looking light" that, upon closer inspection, appeared to be attached to a black triangle (case 45006): The shape was triangle and it has a front light that was amber in color. The UFO did not make any sound. Now, as for the country at large, as I mentioned, many people were seeing strange orange lights in 2012. However these could be attributed to Chinese lanterns, drones, or other man-made or even natural explanations. It's hard to know without further investigation. Here's an example of the types of reports that seem to have been fairly common in 2012 (case 45035 out of Baton Rouge, Louisiana). As always, you be the judge on whether or not you think this anomalous or easy to explain: Bright Gold light that came from the South went against the wind and headed south. |
