A really interesting, and even eerie video showing a ball of light hovering or possibly falling over Texas has been uploaded to YouTube and shared with the TexasUFOs Facebook page. Although six different lights were seen on this night, only one was captured on camera. Check out the footage and testimony below: I couldn't sleep and went outside in my backyard around 4:52am on April 17, 2018. Saw roughly 6 different lights that were hovering above. I thought maybe it was planes but they weren't moving very much. This one recorded seemed to be most active and moving erratically and when I was able to get a clear view through camera, I could see it was spinning and the blackness around it looked like debris spinning around it. At one point it looked like it exploded around time marker 0:46, expanded and then retracted again. Very strange.

According to a video uploaded to YouTube, as well as local news reports, a large meteor exploded over Plano, Texas. The meteor was so large that it caused a loud, deafening, sonic boom to be heard in nearby Oklahoma, spawning an onslaught of social media attention, including tweets by local meteorologists:
Although a green light or meteor was reported to AMSMeteors.org over North Texas during the evening, I couldn't find very many reports of the meteor filmed in Plano during the afternoon. That said, it appears there were multiple meteors that fell over Texas and Oklahoma on March 13th. What is interesting is a few days prior to this event, a similar "UFO" was spotted in North Texas. Many people online speculated the UFO to be a simple sun dog, but I'm not so sure, especially considering these recent meteor reports. While bolide meteors - meteors that loudly explode overhead and can cause the ground to quake - are not common, in 2017 and 2018 it they have been. Check out some recent stories:

An extremely large and bright flame of light was seen and photographed hovering and performing disappearing acts in the daytime sky over Texas, according to a recent MUFON report (case 90697): Teardrop/Meteor shape but hovering, slightly descending; appeared/disappeared materialized/de-materialized
What do you think this photograph shows? A UFO, aliens, or some mysterious otherworldly phenomenon? Or could this just show some weird weather, perhaps even a colorful sunset?

A meteor or crashing plane or satellite or UFO was spotted and photographed over Texas this month. Check out the photo and testimony submitted to MUFON (case 88641): Looked like a meteor but was very bright for the daytime. Also could have been a plane or middle in flames. I could not find any reports of anything natural.

Witness Update: "... we did also pulled out the star gazer app and the bright light in the sky did not come up anywhere on the app as a star ... We also had very intense storms right after with a lot of close and extremely bright lightning. Overall it was very fascinating!" A couple in Canyon, Texas witnessed an extremely bright white glowing orb hover in the sky and them disappear into some storm clouds. Photo and testimony were submitted to TexasUFOs by "NWtexasUFOhunter": Bright white. Husband saw a red hue surround it for a moment towards end of sighing.
This sighting joins many just like it that have been reported in Texas and elsewhere in the US over the past few days. People have been consistently seeing bright star-like objects disappear or take off in front of their eyes. Could these be advanced drones, crashing meteorites, satellites or crafts, or something even stranger than that? Share your theories in the comments below, or on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram.
